THE LAST BIRTHDAY.....

Talk about innocence, is this not the picture of it? I did decide to enter a picture of me when I was younger. Most of the pictures taken of me at a young age are mostly blurry, as I was not prone to sit still. I wonder how long I was tied up for my mom to put those curls in my hair. I'm sure as soon as the picture setting was over they fell out. This taken in 1948 at 4 yrs old.
Then 62 years later still a innocent looking face. :) My sister Linda, in her later years has decided not to cook as much. (Don't we all feel this way!) But she knows how much I love her apple pie, so makes me one everytime we come her way. I usually share this at lunch and then bring it home w/me. The only thing is sometimes it really sticks and it just about takes dynamite (her words not mine) to get it clean. But worth every sore knuckle getting clean, Linda. I'm not worried that she might see me complaining about the pie plate as she doesn't have a pc and "don't want one of the durned things in her house!"

There is a picture missing of my two sisters and me. If it shows up that is Linda and Margaret.

John is taking me to a minor league ball game this evening. They are the Arkansas Naturals and home base is in Springdale, AR just about 25 miles from us. It was just formed and they seem to be doing very well in their league.
So that is it for the June birthdays. Marie (pickleball player friend) has a grand-son born on this day,so besides me, he is special too.

BIRTHDAYS - BIRTHDAYS - FATHERS DAY

I'm a little late with my blog doings. We are now in NW Arkansas visiting family. For those of you who don't know June is a BIG month in the Livelys family for birthdays AND we also have Father's day. To start off this is John when he was about 12 years old. Sweet and innocent looking, and I guess he was at that age. His birthday was the 18th and to celebrate it, he was sick all day.
Then our daughter's birthday is today. This was taken 1968 and she was 5 years old. Again sweet and innocent looking. I think it runs in the Lively family. Happy Birthday Trice, we love you.
I had a hard time finding pictures of Trice and John together. John is 20 years (lacking 2 days) older than Trice and I thought it would be fun to see them age together. This one is in 1986. As you can see John's hair is permed and he just loved it. He loved it because it was so easy to take care of and his daughter always gave them to him. She finally told him, "Dad you are killing your hair", and convinced him to give them up
The latest one I have of them is this one taken in 2009 at her house in Florida. They are aging very well don't you think?
John asked what picture I was going to use for my birthday and I told him (surprise - surprise) that I was not planning on a layout of birthday pictures of me. He said he didn't think that was fair, I said that is what happens when One is the main blogger and the other is the blog-ee.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY , JOHN AND TRICE and HAPPY FATHERS DAY to ALL DADS

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

I was not planning on playing in womens doubles. But the tournament director called and asked if I would play with a lady who had had 2 pardners cancel on her. So I agreed and we played well enough together to win silver. In the silver - gold match we beat the unbeaten couple and then had to play to 15, which we lost: go figure.
John and I won silver. We won our first match, then lost the next one. So had to come up thru the losers bracket. Sure enough we played against the couple we first lost to. We really enjoyed it ... when this picture was taken it was 7:30 and we had been there since 7. They were short on refs(what else is new) so we did that until time to play. Enjoyed the day and met a lot of new pb friends.
Did I mention it was indoors? First time we had ever played in doors. The ONLY thing I liked about it was it rained all day Saturday and it didn't matter. It is very noisy and the lighting is not the greatest.
You can see how many lines there are on the courts, we helped tape the red and yellow lines. Thank goodness, it gave us a chance to get a feel for the court. I still like outside better, any way compared to this indoor court.
Leaving for TT near Dallas tomorrow ..... on the way to NW AR to visit family
